Sanctions and Outcomes
This guide helps keep our decisions consistent across meets, paid events, and community spaces. It's guidance, not a rigid checklist - context and safety always come first.

How We Decide
- Identify where the behaviour happened (meet, paid event, chat, offsite).
- Identify severity (low, medium, high).
- Check evidence strength.
- Choose the least intrusive action that keeps people safe, then set a review date for anything temporary.
Evidence Strength
| Level | What This Looks Like |

| Strong | First-hand detailed report with corroboration, volunteer/venue observation, or clear relevant messages/photos/videos |
| Moderate | Credible first-hand report with good detail but limited corroboration |
| Weak | Anonymous or vague allegations, unverified claims, unclear screenshots, third-hand reports |
Typical Outcomes by Severity
Examples: minor rudeness, ignoring a small request, accidental boundary slip corrected immediately.
- Strong/moderate evidence: Informal reminder or warning. Logged if useful.
- Weak evidence: No action, or a monitoring note.
Examples: repeated unwanted flirting after being asked to stop, persistent arguments with volunteers or venue staff.
- Strong evidence: Formal warning; removal if it continues. Possible temporary suspension (e.g. 1-3 meets).
- Moderate evidence: Warning with close monitoring; removal if behaviour continues.
- Weak evidence: Logged as a concern; no sanctions.
Examples: threats of violence, sexual assault, physical assault, stalking/doxxing, weapons.
- Strong evidence: Immediate removal. Likely temporary or permanent ban. Escalation to venue security/emergency services as needed.
- Moderate evidence: Precautionary removal; temporary restriction while we seek corroboration.
- Weak evidence: If the risk isn't credible, no action. If there's a credible safety concern despite weak evidence, precautionary steps may be taken.
- Overly intoxicated: Asked to leave for welfare. Logged.
- Repeated intoxication removals: Suspension from three consecutive meets.
- Illegal substances: Immediate removal; likely ban; venue staff/security involved.
- Unverified claims or allegations: Logged as a concern or no action. No bans based on unverified information alone.
- Credible serious safety risk: Precautionary restriction while we review, with a review date.
Review Dates
- Warnings: Reviewed if further reports come in.
- Temporary suspensions: Review date set (e.g. 1-3 months or after a set number of meets).
- Longer bans: Periodic review (e.g. every 6-12 months) where appropriate.
